Bandits of Orgosolo (1961)

Plot

A Sardinian farmer becomes embroiled in a murder case involving a police officer but refuses to surrender, mistrusting the justice system and anxious about his sheep's fate during a trial. With his brother, he retreats to the mountains, facing harsh conditions that lead to the loss of his flock. Upon returning to his hometown, he finds his family living in dire poverty. Desperate and with few options, he acquires a gun and turns to banditry, driven by the harsh realities of his social circumstances.
