Mother's Elling (2003)
Plot
Elling has never left his mother’s side, living a quiet life where she handles the practicalities and he contemplates the big questions. His days are spent reading and observing neighbors from their window, perfectly content without much human contact. So when Mom announces a beach trip to Spain, Elling is less than thrilled. He agrees only out of duty, believing she needs his company. But what he fails to grasp is that Mom isn’t just aging—she’s dying. On this final journey, she hopes to show him that the world extends far beyond their living room walls.
