Plot
Two decades following a national crisis that depleted oil reserves and instilled fear, America has devolved into a fascist regime. Franklyn Hart, a former race car driver now merely a figurehead for public transit, defies the oppressive system. He meticulously restores his beloved race car and embarks on a daring journey from Boston to California, a place where some still cling to the vestiges of a freer past. As he races against time, Hart seeks to rekindle the spirit of independence and challenge the constraints of a controlled society.
