Why Would I Lie? (1980)
Plot
Cletus has a habit of bending the truth—he prefers calling it "fabrication" rather than lying. When he starts working as a social worker, he's assigned to a boy named Jorge (spelled with a J), who was removed from his mother's care. Determined to reunite them, Cletus spins one story after another to prevent Jorge from being adopted. In his search for the mother, he meets and falls for a women's advice counselor.
