Plot
Mayu, a high schooler in a quiet town near Tokyo, is desperate to escape her stepfather's abuse. Her plan is to flee to her uncle's place in the city, but when she reaches the bus stop, a terrifying old woman makes her miss the last ride. Forced to take a mountain trail instead, she unknowingly crosses paths with danger. Meanwhile, her uncle Kazuki, a freelance writer, is hunting the same monstrous figure—Yoshie—who has been attacking locals. When he learns Mayu has vanished, he finds her abandoned phone on the path, its screen displaying a photo of Yoshie.
