Soft Shoes (1925)
Plot
Sheriff Pat Halahan heads to San Francisco to claim an inheritance, but his hotel room is soon invaded by cat burglar Faith O’Day, who levels a pistol and flashlight, demanding his cash. Halahan calls her bluff, betting a single dollar he can return the brooch she swiped earlier that night before anyone notices it’s gone. Kicking off his boots for quieter “soft shoes,” he slips out to pull off his own bit of second-story work—unaware of the chaos waiting for him.
